ILLUSTRATION FOR ARTISTS
THE FINE ART OF ILLUSTRATION
This course is aimed at helping artists to explore ways in which illustration can broaden and enrich their fine art practice and will help in considering and developing ideas for an existing practice within an illustration context.
Starting with an overview of illustration in contemporary practice, Georgie and Caroline will guide you through workshops and presentations that will engage, inspire and encourage new approaches to your practice while considering how your work could be developed for applications within the world of illustration.
The course includes one to one tuition and guidance from both tutors throughout, with a selection of workshops to encourage new and modern ways of approaching image making, including using the essence of commercial led briefs, and projects that encourage a more self-initiated entrepreneurial approach such as artists' books / narratives. Practical exercises will encourage the individual to create intuitively and with an individual explorative focus.
You are encouraged to bring along any work you have done that is relevant to the course and that you seek guidance on.
The two-day event starts with a cup of tea and conversation around the subject and will close with a celebration and informal gathering of your achievements and ideas.
