OPEN SUPERVISED PRINTMAKING
Printmaking courses and Supervised Open Access Printing are held in the Print Department at Newlyn School of Art which is a wonderful sun lit space within the beautiful 1880's Victorian primary school building which houses the school. We are capable of catering to a wide range of printing techniques and use safer 'non toxic' materials to create plates. The main printing press is a large Hunter Penrose press which was reconditioned and delivered by the renowned printing press makers; Rochat of London. We have two other book presses which enable us to cater for a number of students wishing to create lino or wood cuts at one time.
We are committed to providing fairly priced access to printmaking facilities for the local arts community of west Cornwall and visitors to the county. Our Printmaking Sessions are open to all levels of previous experience and enable students and professional artists to work under the guidance of our experienced Print Technician Mary Crockett.
Mary Crockett who worked alongside artists such as Sir Terry Frost, Gary Hume and Breon O'Casey at Hugh Stoneman's print studio is one of our experienced technicians.
