Artist and Printmaker Mary Crockett teaches our two day Printing in Colour - Terry Frost course and two day Inspired by O'Casey printmaking course and is a regular Supervisor on our Open Supervised Printmaking sessions every third Friday.

Mary Crockett studied at Winchester School of Art and The Central School of Art Etching.

She is one of the most experienced printmakers working in Cornwall today having worked alongside Hugh Stoneman with artists such as Sir Terry Frost, Gary Hume, Patrick Heron, Sandra Blow and John Hoyland. Other artists she has worked with since include Kurt Jackson, Breon O'Casey and Naomi Frears.

Her practice includes both painting and printmaking and much of her time is spent working on and editioning other artists' prints. Her own work focuses particularly on mono-printing, etching and lino cuts. Her work is about light and dark as space and distance, often as if looking through the surface plane to the light behind.

Mary has run print workshops at public galleries including The Exchange Gallery, Penzance and Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro and many other educational facilities throughout the country since the 1980's.
