Rob Unett

Artist Rob Unett teaches our three-day short course Abstract Figure, the two-day in-person Expressive Flower Painting, and our online Expressive Flower Painting and runs our year-long The Figure Programme with Faye Dobinson. Rob is also a tutor on a number of our Online Life Drawing Sessions.

Rob Unett primarily depicts the clothed and nude figure. He works with immediacy, directed by poignant thoughts, reacting to the moment, subject and space with brave dynamism. His surfaces are soaked with media, swallowing arrays of colour; a vocabulary to visually speak through. Whether it is through delicate lines, rhythmic washes, violent slashes, smears, tears or bleeds, emotions are released and images emerge. Sex, gender, pose, gesture, confusion, destruction and construction, all feature in the abstract figures Unett depicts.

Rob is a gifted artist and Tutor and deeply generous in spirit when sharing his practice and encouraging others with theirs.
