NATIONAL TRUST PAINTING DAYS
We are delighted to be launching the first of our new National Trust Painting Days in partnership with the Trust celebrating a number of their sites around the coastline of far West Cornwall.
The first workshop we will be running will be held at a National Trust farm near to Land’s End where a rare and beautiful wild flower has been encouraged to grow in great numbers. Purple Vipers’ Bugloss (Echium Plantagineum is its Latin name) is part of the Borage family and is native to Southern and Western Europe, North Africa, the Azores, the Canaries, the Cape Verde Islands and the Caucasus. It has occasionally been recorded at the very northern edge of its range in the Channel Islands, on the Scillies and, very rarely, in Cornwall.
This one day workshop is open to all levels of experience and will be tutored by talented local artist Imogen Bone who is one of the most highly regarded coastal painters working in Cornwall today. Imogen is a fantastic teacher and a very encouraging and inspiring person to learn from.
The course will take place at the farm where Imogen will take participants through various water-based painting techniques using both acrylic paint and some additional mixed media drawing materials. The one day workshop will see Imogen share her skills and experience as a coastal landscape painter helping students to consider composition, colour, tone and use of line. All materials are included in the course price.
The course will take place on two different dates of July 2nd and July 9th, 2017. To sign up for either of these dates please book online by clicking on the above drop down list of dates, selecting how many ‘art course’ places you require for that date and clicking ‘Buy now’.
