National Trust Art Courses in Painting Cornwall

NATIONAL TRUST PAINTING COURSES

We are delighted that after a very succesful first year in 2017 of working in partnership with the National Trust we will be rolling out a series of new three day landscape painting courses run in association with the Trust at their sites around the coastline of far West Cornwall for 2018. Many of these special sites will not be familiar to the public as this is the first time the National Trust has publicised the work they have been doing in these, very remote, often cliff-top farmland locations. Each three day course will be taught by a single tutor from Newlyn School of Art and every day will take place at a different venue of the many stunning locations managed by the National Trust in West Cornwall. There will be a brief introduction from the Trust Ranger for each venue to tell students about the work the Trust has done there.

May 30th-June 1st with Imogen Bone using acrylics and mixed media

July 2nd-4th with Paul Lewin using watercolour and various drawing materials

September 12th-14th Amanda Hoskin using watercolour and various drawing materials

A reasonable level of fitness is required for this course as there will be some coastal path walking and walking over uneven surfaces to get to a few of the venues.

Testimonial

I have really enjoyed the combination of being outside in some wonderful locations - learning about the sites, the flowers and wildlife - plus the fantastic opportunity to paint, experiment and learn new approaches to my work.
