OIL PAINTING COURSE
The Oil Painting course is tutored by Newlyn based artist Jason Walker who is a highly respected painter in oils currently serving on the committee of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Jason will take those attending the course through the basics of using oil paint. This course is suitable for beginners and improvers and includes lots of one to one tuition on the building blocks of using oil paint including advice on studio practice such as how to set yourself up at home with the right brushes, paints and studio set up to suit you and practical exercises over the four days for tackling a still life subject with the basics of understanding colour, tone and composition. This course takes place in the beautiful period school studio and will focus on the still life.
All drawing materials, brushes, supports and paint will be supplied by the art school.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS COURSE WILL BE REPLACED BY 'PAINTING WITH OILS' TAUGHT BY JON DORAN FROM THE BEGINNING OF 2018. JASON WALKER WILL BE TEACHING A NEW 'PORTRAIT IN OILS' COURSE FROM THE BEGINNING OF 2018.
