Our Printmaking Days are run to enable our students to have access to printing facilities three times per year in the Print Department at Newlyn School of Art. The main printing press is a large Hunter Penrose press which was reconditioned and assembled at the art school by the renowned printing press makers; Rochat of London.
Our Printmaking Sessions are open to all levels of previous experience and enable students to work under the guidance of our experienced Print Tutor John Howard assisted by artist Dan Pyne.
Ink and Bread and Butter paper are provided as part of the Print Day fee and a range of more professional papers such as Somerset are available to purchase at cost from the school.
We advise bringing some idea of the design you would like to work from on the day.
On these sessions students use the drypoint card we supply to do monoprinting on the day.
Arrival at 9.45am for a 10am start. Day ends at 4pm.
Please bring a packed lunch and old clothes that you are happy to get ink on.

All skill levels, from beginners to those with more experience. If you have any specific access or support requirements please give us a call at the time of booking to discuss your needs.
We would advise that this course is suitable for those of 16 years of age and upwards. We put these guidelines in place for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our students.
Our session fees include inks, chemicals and some other consumables. Paper and printing plates may be purchased from the School at cost price. Please wear old clothes which you are happy to get printing ink on.

Although we do list local providers of accommodation on our Website to try to assist you in finding accommodation, you are responsible for contracting directly with the accommodation provider and when doing so (and when booking transport) you should make arrangements for cancellation whether that is as the result of a cancellation of a Course by us or by you and you should consider appropriate insurance.
