THE FEMININE IN ART
This fascinating three day course encourages students to work creatively with the Feminine, the Sacred, the Animal and the Dream. Kate will guide students on a journey to discover participants’ own inner responses to the feminine, the sacred, the animal and the dream. Using techniques to encourage the retrieval of subtle inner impulses, you will explore the subtle matrix of life, which will include refining your feelings about the natural world.
Drawing onto a range of different surfaces gives drawn and painted marks a beautiful quality which can be exploited and developed through employing layers of ink, watercolour, gum Arabic, charcoal and pencil.
Working with traditional supports and gesso on paper makes a more forgiving surface to work on allowing inks or paints to be rubbed back giving the drawings much more scope for flexibility. This addition and subtraction gives a useful freedom to working because what you take out is often as important as what you leave in and leaves opportunities for layering a history of marks.
All drawing materials, supports and paint will be supplied by the art school.
