Frequently Asked Questions for the Auction

Frequently Asked Questions for the June Auction:

How do I make a bid? Simply click on the 'Full Details' grey box below each lot image and fill in your details and bid amount. Please note that bids must be above the 'reserve' and the 'current highest bid' to have a chance of winning the lot.

What is the 'reserve'? The 'reserve' shown is 2/3, or less, of the usual gallery price for a comparable work by the artist.

When do I know if I have won the lot that I have bid on? Bidding closes at 8pm on Tuesday 30th June. The highest bidder for each lot will be contacted after the auction to arrange payment and delivery.

Will I get sent notification if my bid has been outbid by someone else? Yes. You will automatically be sent an email to tell you if your bid has been outbid by someone else. You can then choose whether to make another bid.

Do I use a new bidding online form to submit a higher bid? Yes. Most browsers remember the information you have put in previously so it should make it relatively quick to do.

Will the work in the auction be subject to artist's resale rights? No the works are being sold direct from the artist and so there are no extra fees for resale rights.

Is the delivery a cost to be paid on top of the sum that was bid? Yes. On behalf of the artists we have created a straightforward and cost effective set of delivery options. As a guide; the cost of delivery to any UK mainland address will be roughly in the following categories:

1. £25 for a small unframed work on paper sent in the registered post to a UK mainland address. The cost of packaging and insurance is included in this delivery charge.

2. All other works (which are not small unframed works on paper) will be sent using a professional art courier company who are a recommended handler for institutions such as the Royal Academy and the Mall Galleries. The following prices include vat, packaging and insurance.

£36 for delivery to Cornwall.

£50 for delivery to the South West of England.

£85 for delivery to London, the South East, the Midlands and South Wales.

£99 for delivery to all other addresses in mainland England.

3. For delivery to any addresses not listed above please contact the art school office via our Contact Us form prior to making a bid and include your address and which lots you are interested in bidding on.
