Jack Davis
J.D “The relentless power of nature creates order out of chaos, my work seeks to channel that energy and evoke a primal sense of experience: dramatic, dynamic and deep.”
Combining a variety of marks, textures and layers Jack creates an immersive and expressive response to the Cornish coastline. Jack often paints en plein air and encourages the essence of a place to naturally arise through the process.
Jack has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Scope Art Fair Miami, PROTECHT in association with the Whitechapel Gallery, The Threadneedle Prize: ‘Figurative Art Today’, ‘Painting Now!’ Bryant and Keeling Prize and was an invited artist to ‘Sculpture by the Sea’ in Cottesloe, Australia.
Jack is the Tutor for our Expressive Landscape five day course and he is one of the artists teaching on the One Week Landscape and Defining Practice Year Long courses.
