We are delighted to be reopening on 12th April for anyone who is able to attend by staying in self-contained self-catering accommodation or travelling from home. Many cottages and by the night self-catering accommodation places are available currently and you can find many of those via our Accommodation Page. You can find the available courses from our Calendar at the top of the page. From 17th May all accommodation will be open and people can attend and stay in B and B’s and hotels as well as self-contained accommodation.

Since March of 2020 we have enabled those who are booking courses and those with existing bookings to have peace of mind with a specific booking guarantee which enables anyone who is unable to attend a course they have booked due to a national or local lockdown to be given a transfer or credit note valid for up to three years from the date of the course they were unable to attend due to government restrictions. The scheme has given everyone considering booking a course, or those with an existing booking, a very flexible route to enjoying their course at the art school when they are able to do so.

For those who are currently unable to attend the courses in person at the art school we have also introduced new online courses including short courses, life drawing and a range of yearlong online mentoring courses. Please sign up to our newsletter to hear more about these courses over the coming weeks.

For those attending courses at the art school we have made some changes to the way we run our courses to help keep you and our team safe. We are confident that none of the creativity, the opportunity to learn, or indeed the fun has been taken out of our courses.

If you are booked on one of our courses in the coming months you can expect slightly reduced course numbers, individual workstations, materials for your use only, and a one-way system in place throughout the studio so that social distancing can be adhered to. We require that all students wear masks while in the studio however outside on our outdoor landscape courses you are free to keep 2 metres apart without the need for a mask.

We are still able to provide all the materials needed on the course however we are no longer able to welcome you with our usual refreshments. Instead we encourage students to bring their own flasks and drinks which they can take with them on the course.

We have run a number of courses since the first lockdown ended in July 2020 and we have had overwhelming support and positive feedback from our students thus far.

Two to three weeks prior to arriving on the course you will receive an email with more detail on our current Coronavirus policies and what to expect whilst on the course. If we all follow the new guidelines, we will all be able to stay safe and you can enjoy a fantastic experience on our courses. We look forward to welcoming you to the art school.
