Studio Preparations Technician
We are looking for a dedicated Studio Preparations Technician to join our friendly team. Our studios are carefully prepared creative spaces, and this role plays an essential part in maintaining the high standards that our students value.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome students confidently at the start of each course
Deliver clear health and safety information to student groups
Clean, clear and re-organise studios between courses within tight turnaround times
Prepare art equipment, paints, papers and boards to tutor specifications
Clean brushes and art equipment thoroughly and efficiently
Maintain clean, safe and well-organised teaching, preparation and storage areas
Assist with equipment maintenance, minor building repairs and occasional decorating
Use our digital stock system (training provided)
Support tutors and students with hanging artwork and occasional off‑site gallery preparations
Please note: This role involves regular lifting, carrying and moving equipment. Good physical fitness and stamina are essential.
Qualifications & Skills (Requirements)
Flexibility to work between 9am and 8:30pm, Monday to Sunday (average 16 hours per week)
Experience in hands-on work involving preparation or cleaning tasks
High physical fitness and ability to safely lift and carry heavy items
Clear, confident communication skills, including speaking to groups
Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail
Logical, calm approach to tasks and problem-solving
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of art materials (beneficial but not essential)
Own vehicle and clean driving licence
DBS check required
Right to work in the UK required
