Digital Marketer and Customer Services Officer

Newlyn School of Art is a leading provider of practical art courses and mentoring for artists from across the UK and abroad. Based in the famous artistic colony of Newlyn in West Cornwall, the art school provides in-person and online art courses throughout the year.

We are seeking a dynamic digital marketer to join our team in the newly created role of Digital Marketer and Customer Services Officer.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of current experience creating content and managing social media accounts and possess excellent customer service, administrative and organisational skills.

You will bring to the role exceptional copywriting, digital marketing and IT skills and have attention to detail whilst being able to communicate confidently with the public.

You will have an excellent working knowledge of a breadth of social media platforms, the ability to take a good photo and possess strong design skills, flair and creativity.

Your typical daily working pattern will be sharing the team responsibilities of fielding customer enquiries and bookings during the first half of the day and focusing on digital marketing and content creation in the afternoons. No two days are the same.

You must be happy working in a small team environment showing flexibility and willingness to ‘muck in’ and assist with the smooth running of the art school at all times.

About the role:

We are looking for a motivated, conscientious, reliable and friendly individual with excellent communication and organisational skills who has a proven track record of fulfilling a similar role.

An example summary of the responsibilities of this role includes:

Develop engaging content for social media.
Newlyn School of Art social media account management.
Promotion of events and associated exhibitions and courses.
Facebook community management.
Annual student exhibition Instagram promotion.
Newsletter creation.
Taking photographs, creating gifs and other media if necessary.
Ensuring engagement and account growth.
Social media scheduling using a range of tools.
Content writing for social media, email marketing, blogging, and PR.
Website edits.
Coordinating online annual tutors' fundraising art exhibition.
Photo editing.
Analyse data and draw actionable insights.
Being part of the team sharing administrative tasks; answering phones, responding to customer enquiries and taking bookings.
Preparing reports and documents for Directors including Google Analytics, customer feedback and testimonials.

Essential Requirements:

We are looking for a Digital Marketer who has a proven track record and possesses excellent administrative experience. You must have great numeracy and written English, strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

You should be proactive and forward-thinking with a positive attitude, having worked with a breadth of social media platforms and have excellent IT skills including Microsoft software in particular Outlook, Excel and Word, Adobe Suite including Photoshop and comfortable using Canva, Indesign etc. You will have a basic understanding of SEO.

Desirable but not essential: Basic knowledge of Google analytics.

Location: Newlyn, Cornwall (office-based)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Working hours: 9am-4.30pm Monday - Friday

Pay: £26,500 per annum
