Q&A Speakers and Artists
Martyn Cross is a Bristol-based artist, represented by Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York and Hales Gallery, London. His paintings encompass strange territories, where living things interconnect on both a microscopic and planetary level. Landscapes are personified, animals morph into vegetal states, and celestial bodies become graspable. Last year, Cross was artist-in-residence at the Roberts Institute of Art, Scotland, and curated the group show Softly Radiant, Half Buried at Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York.
Alison Larkman uses a wide range of approaches and scale to explore fragility and the unseen, reflecting her own life-altering experience of M.E. Her current project, I Would Be Here if I Could, places the words of people living with M.E. and Long Covid in the places they love but can no longer be. The idea, born during Larkman's time on Newlyn School of Art's Mentoring Programme, has grown far beyond its original scope and is now one of the largest collaborative art projects in the UK.
Suzanne Rolt, Director & CEO of Arnolfini and Chair of Impermanence Dance, is a cultural leader focused on music, contemporary arts and artistic planning.
