John Howard Printmaker
John Howard is one of the most talented and experienced printmakers working in the South West today.
Born in Birmingham, John worked in industry in the Midlands before studying Fine Art as a mature student. He graduated from University of Central England in 1989 with a First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art. John was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) in 1995 and a Member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) in 1996.
John moved to Cornwall in 1995 and now runs a successful printmaking studio in Penryn, offering courses, workshops and open access.
He has taught as a visiting lecturer at University of Central England, University of Warwick, University of Coventry and Birmingham Print Workshop and is a regular contributor to courses at King Edward’s School, Birmingham and University College Falmouth.
John is a tutor on our yearlong Defining Practice Course held over six weekends in one year.
