This energised two-day course will encourage mark making from painterly fluid marks through to drawn line using a range of materials. There will be an opportunity to incorporate multimedia exercises in order to study the nude and dressed form with Rob lightly introducing and demonstrating digital interventions.
Through rapid and more sustained poses using drawing, painting, collaging and more, the course will include working across many different types of papers and sketchbooks to capture our thoughts, marks and observations.
Traditional techniques will be challenged by modern approaches in order to discover new colours, textures, shapes, light and aesthetics. We will build a body of personal resources that via a period of group reflection will open-up new areas of opportunity and wonder to our practice.
An indulgent and fast paced immersion into the possibilities of combining a wide variety of painting and drawing approaches with a bold approach to depicting the human form.
