This lively new four day course is taught by artist Anita Reynolds. The aim of the course is to move away from a representational way of interpreting the landscape towards a looser approach. The course is divided between working outside in the stunning coastal and moorland landscape of Cornwall to gather information, and developing sketches and ideas back in the studio.
Abstract works still need to follow basic principles of composition, colour, tone and form; Anita will show you how to manipulate and play-up these aesthetics to achieve the level of abstraction you are looking for in your artwork.
During the course you will use a wide range of materials, tools and surfaces and you will be encouraged to work in a wide variety of sizes from small intimate studies to large scale dynamic paintings.
Anita is the most generous of artists and a joy to be around and her courses combine a sharing of her deep knowledge of painting the landscape with a love of fun and an energised approach to painting.
A reasonable level of fitness is required for this course as there will be some coastal path walking and walking over uneven surfaces to get to a few of the venues.
