AGORA Session 1 Q&A

Welcome to our first AGORA Mentoring Programme: On Tour evening event!

Join us on Friday 28th November, from 5-7:30pm at Newlyn School of Art for a social gathering with hosted Q&As, a donations bar, and an opportunity to be one of the first to lay your eyes on some of the artwork of our 2025/26 Mentees displayed informally in the school.

Q&A Artists
Jesse Leroy Smith will be hosting Q&A sessions with Chelsey Pettyjohn, A. Todd and Jonathan Micheal Ray, and also sharing some images from the recent group show he participated in at Athens Airport.

Chelsey Pettyjohn is visiting us from New York, and will be sharing her experience on recent residences in Wales and Newlyn, and give a little insight to her residency in Porthmeor studios due to take place next summer.

A. Todd will be sharing his progress since completing the Mentoring Programme with us in 2023, and giving insight into his recent show “Strange Horse” with alumni Ben Davies.

Jonathan Michael Ray will be talking about settling in Cornwall from London, and his solo show “Field Work” and installation at Tate St. Ives.

Our Guest Artists will be sharing inspirational experiences and insights from their practices which will prove useful for any emerging artist.

AGORA: Mentoring Programme On Tour

Our Mentee artists will display their artwork informally, including installation, painting, film and associated research materials. Join us in celebrating them as they embark on a year of Mentoring with sessions at well-known arts venues such as Phoenix, Brighton and Arnolfini, Bristol and concluding with a dynamic exhibition at Tremenheere Gallery and Sculpture Gardens, Penzance.
