In response to a long illustration career working to briefs and tight deadlines, Caroline Pedler has fostered a personally responsive, artistic practice where intuitive mark-making reflects inner frustrations, conversations and life growing up in the landscape of Cornwall. A response to a life lived and loved.
Painting and collage form a dance of eye, heart and hand. Where material, space and composition are taken through a hands-on, haptic process and then often digitally manipulated and composed into a publishing format, whether a small limited edition publication, a picturebook for wider consumption or an exhibition.

An educator, artist and Illustrator of over 50 picturebooks for children Caroline has exhibited around the UK and abroad, most recently in Italy, China and United Emirates. Winning the professional picturebook award for the CICLA Original Illustration Exhibition in China in 2020.
